Dr Clem Bonney wears many hats which have all brought him to a point where his passion in workplace health and safety steers his path towards an Occupational Physician.
Dr Bonney’s career first started as a qualified electrician where he completed his trade at the Plane Creek Sugar Mill in 1995. He became a Registered Nurse, completing a Bachelor of Health at Central Queensland University in 1998, commencing work at the Mackay Mater for a year. He would go on to work there as a Doctor, completing a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at University of Queensland in 2003 as part of the inaugural class of the Rockhampton Rural Clinical School. In 2011, Dr Bonney completed a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Rehabilitation at the University of New South Wales. In 2012, he received his fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
In 2014, Dr Bonney completed a Masters in Workplace Health and Safety at the University of Newcastle. He was also accepted into the training program to complete a Fellowship in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, which he hopes to complete by 2017. This will allow him to reach his life long goal as an Occupational Physician.
